LabEx's Linux Hands-on Labs offer solid value.

The Linux Hands-on Labs are great, especially with a Pro subscription; discounts on annual plans are good.

Great value with annual discount!

The built-in annual discount made getting Node.js Labs a simple decision; tablet access is not supported, though.

LabEx rocks for real-world skills!

Okay, so I've tried a few of these platforms, like Cloud Academy, but LabEx just hits different! I was looking for something that actually lets me get my hands dirty, and the Vim Editor Mastery lab was exactly that. Instead of just watching videos, I was actually *doing* it, which for about 20 bucks, is amazing value. I love that they offer built-in discounts for annual commitments too, makes it super affordable. Definitely recommending this to my tech buddies and I'll be back for more labs, for sure! 🚀

Solid learning platform

I recently bought a subscription for the DevOps Learning Path. The ordering process on the website was simple, I got my confirmation email right away. Access to the labs was immediate, which was great. The virtual environment for the Git Version Control Labs within the path felt very realistic. I had a small question about saving progress, and their support responded to my email within a few hours, clarifying how it worked. The content quality seems high, especially for the price. I'd recommend it for anyone needing hands-on practice.

Always reliable labs

This wasn't my first time using LabEx; I've been a subscriber for about a year now. I signed up for the Kubernetes Orchestration Labs this time, and as usual, the environment was ready instantly. Consistency is why I keep coming back. My previous experience with their AWS Cloud Labs was just as smooth. They just work.

Good for quick practice

I used the Python Programming Labs. It was straightforward and easy to navigate. Labs loaded fast. Got my practice in without issues. Will use again.

Effective for learning, minor quibble

I tried out the Cybersecurity Labs and found them quite effective. The labs themselves, particularly the Penetration Testing Labs, were well-structured and provided good hands-on experience. The virtual environments were stable, which is crucial for these types of labs. My only minor complaint was that sometimes the load times for new lab modules felt a bit slow, maybe 15-20 seconds longer than I'd like. Overall, the value for money is there, and it's a solid platform for skill development. Customer service was responsive when I had a login question.

can you stack coupon codes on LabEx? I saw a student discount mentioned but also like a referral code, not sure if I can use both.

C Carly 2 months ago
Nah, I don't think you can stack 'em. Usually it's one code per purchase/upgrade on most sites, and I remember trying that with LabEx and it didn't work.

Most places don't let you stack, afaik. Pick the best discount you can find and just use that one.

Are new labs added regularly? or is it pretty much a static library once you buy in?

G Gwen E. 2 months ago
They add new labs fairly often! I've seen new stuff pop up in the DevOps and cloud sections especially. It's not stagnant at all.

J Jared 1 month ago
Yeah, I think they say they update it every few weeks or something. You'll definitely see new topics and tech getting added over time.

hey thinking about getting the annual sub for LabEx but not sure if there's always a discount for it? like, is it better to wait for a specific sale or are annual plans usually cheaper anyway?

K Kate V. 2 months ago
Yeah, if you pay for the whole year upfront it's definitely cheaper than month-to-month. I think it's usually like 20-40% off, so pretty good.

They often have seasonal stuff too, like around Black Friday or New Year's. But even without a special sale, the annual commitment usually gets you a decent chunk off the regular monthly price. No need to wait necessarily.

Does LabEx have a free tier that's actually useful? or is it just like a tiny demo then you have to pay for everything good?

S Sophie Carter 2 months ago
The free tier is actually pretty solid. You can do quite a few basic labs for free, it's not just a demo. Good for getting a feel for how it all works.

It's free forever for certain labs, yeah. Not everything, obviously, but enough to get started and see if you like their style of learning before committing to Pro.

how does LabEx compare to something like KodeKloud or TryHackMe for cybersecurity stuff? trying to decide which one to go with.

M Mark K. 1 month ago
LabEx is good for structured learning paths, especially if you want more guided labs. TryHackMe is more challenge-based, and KodeKloud is super strong for DevOps specifically. Depends on your learning style, honestly.

I've used LabEx and TryHackMe. LabEx feels a bit more like a classroom sometimes, which is good for fundamentals. TryHackMe is more 'here's a problem, go hack it'. Both good, just different vibes.
